Lane Leann Williams

NEWBERRY - Lane Leann Williams, 26, died on Saturday, March 20, at her home on Floyd Road in Newberry.

She was born Oct. 19, 1983, in Greenwood, a daughter of Danny L. and Beverly Warren Williams.

Miss Williams graduated in 2001 from Newberry High School, where she was co-editor-in-chief and top salesperson of The Oracle yearbook. She was inducted into the Beta Club in 1999 and won several awards for outstanding academic achievement and leadership ability: the MacLean-Fogg Scholarship, the Conservation Scholarship, the Excellence Award and a scholarship from the Newberry County Association of Education Office Professionals, and a Certificate of Achievement for service in the classroom from the English Department faculty.

In 2003 Miss Williams graduated from Piedmont Tech with an associate degree in business, and in 2005 she graduated from Newberry College with a B.S. degree in business administration.

She worked as court administrator for the 8th Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office, Newberry and Laurens counties, a position in which she had established a strong reputation for her unfailing courtesy, her high standards of professionalism, and her keen intelligence. Miss Williams was previously employed by the S.C. Prosecution Commission and the Newberry County Farm Bureau.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and an avid lover of animals.

Miss Williams is survived by her parents and sister, Morgan Michelle Williams. She was the granddaughter of Bobby Ann Williams and the late Bennie L. Williams, and Janie Davis Warren and the late Nathan Burton Warren Jr.

She is also survived by aunts and uncles: Margaret and Biff Riebe of Kinards, David and Macey Warren of Newberry, Annette Williams Bledsoe, widow of the late Glenn Bledsoe of Newberry, Chrissie and Mark Campitella of Chapin; several loving and beloved cousins; and three beloved little friends, Skyler and Tyler Ammonds, and Wyman Phillips.

Funeral service will be conducted at St. James Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 25 at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Rodney Gunter. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home in Newberry, 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Memorials may be made to: St. James Lutheran Church, 228 Jalapa Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Honorary pallbearers will be Miss Williams' fellow workers of the District 8 Solicitors Office. Active Pallbearers will be: Will Warren, Mark Campitella, Bobby Pollard, Fred Ballentine, David Hix and Blake Hendrix.

We have made some exciting progress with your support, input, and opinions throughout the years. Please join us in continuing to make the South Carolina Association of Pretrial Programs a great success.

To become a member of the South Carolina Association of Pretrial Intervention Programs, download the membership form and mail it to our office. The cost of the membership for the year is $35.00 per person for professional members (voting members) and $25.00 for associate members (non-voting members).
